BIODIVERSITY
Indigenous peoples embody and nurture 80% of the world’s cultural and biological diversity, and occupy 20% of the world’s land surface. They are able to do this through deep-rooted cultural believes and practicals based on their daily lives. They rely on forests for shelter, food, medicine and their spiritual needs as well. To them, environmental conservation is not a duty but rather a lifestyle .Culture continues to play a huge role as far as many communities in Africa and conservation are concerned. This is one of Osinoni’s key conservation approaches .
Extinction
Fighting extinction is inevitable. Due to continued erosion of biodiversity, we are losing quite a number of important indigenous trees, grasses, flowers and other vegetation that is critical to nature’s stability. Osinoni is working closely with other stakeholders to find long-lasting ,holistic solutions that are sustainable and practical.
Conservation
Protection of key wetlands and water towers is our priority. Diminishing water volumes are a result of massive destruction of vegetation, pollution and other harmful human activity practices. Ensuring that regeneration takes places in the protected spaces brings back stability in the degraded ecosystems. Osinoni continues to cover more springs rivers etc to ensure that the finite water resource increases for the benefit of communities and wildlife.
